Lisa von Moltke, M.D., is the Head of Research and Development and Chief Medical Officer at Zenas Biopharma Inc., where she spearheads the company’s global clinical development strategy for innovative therapies targeting autoimmune diseases. With more than 25 years of leadership in biopharmaceutical R&D, Dr. von Moltke oversees Zenas’ pipeline, including the Phase 3 NIYAD trial evaluating obexelimab for IgG4-related disease and ongoing programs in other immunology indications. Her expertise in translating scientific breakthroughs into approved medicines has positioned Zenas to address critical unmet needs in rare and debilitating conditions. Prior to Zenas, Dr. von Moltke served as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Clinical Development at Horizon Therapeutics, leading the successful development and FDA approval of TEPEZZA® (teprotumumab), the first and only medicine for thyroid eye disease, which earned Breakthrough Therapy designation and transformed treatment paradigms. She also drove the supplemental approval of KRYSTEXXA® (pegloticase) for chronic refractory gout. Earlier roles included Vice President of Clinical Development at Cubist Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Merck) and leadership positions at Pfizer, where she advanced programs in infectious diseases, immunology, and inflammation. A board-certified internist and rheumatologist, Dr. von Moltke received her M.D. from the University of Cape Town and completed her residency in internal medicine and rheumatology fellowship at Tufts Medical Center. Her deep clinical acumen, combined with strategic regulatory and development experience, continues to propel Zenas’ mission to deliver life-changing therapies for patients worldwide.
