Mark B. Medley serves as Regional President for the East Region at Community Health Systems Inc. (CHS), a leading operator of general acute care hospitals and outpatient facilities across the United States. In this role, he oversees the strategic, operational, and financial performance of more than 30 hospitals and affiliated entities, driving initiatives to enhance patient care quality, operational efficiency, and community health outcomes. With over 25 years of progressive leadership in healthcare, Mark brings deep expertise in hospital administration, physician alignment, and growth strategies to his position at CHS. Mark's career began in clinical operations, where he advanced from nursing leadership roles to executive positions at prominent healthcare organizations. Prior to joining CHS, he served as President and CEO of TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, a 741-bed facility, where he spearheaded a major expansion project adding over 100 beds and advanced service lines, resulting in improved market share and national recognition for clinical excellence. Earlier, he held senior roles at Vanguard Health Systems and HCA Healthcare, including Regional Vice President, where he managed multi-hospital portfolios and implemented performance improvement programs that reduced costs by 15% while boosting patient satisfaction scores. Under Mark's leadership at CHS, the East Region has achieved significant milestones, including enhanced CMS star ratings, successful partnerships with local health systems, and revenue growth through service line expansions in cardiology, orthopedics, and behavioral health. A graduate of the University of Tennessee with a Master's in Health Administration, Mark is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and actively serves on industry boards, advocating for innovative healthcare delivery models.
