Peter C. Underwood serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at Fortive Corporation, a global industrial technology company. Prior to Danaher, he was Associate General Counsel at Cooper Industries, handling international transactions and litigation, and earlier practiced as a partner at the law firm Vinson & Elkins LLP, specializing in energy and corporate law. A graduate of Rice University with a B.A. and the University of Texas School of Law with a J.D., Underwood brings over 25 years of experience in high-stakes legal environments. Among his key achievements, Underwood spearheaded the legal framework for Fortive's public formation and subsequent acquisitions, including the $2 billion purchase of Accruent and other strategic deals that expanded the company's capabilities in asset management and automation. His leadership has been instrumental in navigating regulatory challenges, fostering ethical business practices, and driving sustainable value creation, earning him recognition as a trusted advisor to Fortive's executive team and board of directors.
